Since 1856, the Van Vleck Family has been committed to the land, the environment and the community. Our ranching and resource operations are all reflective of our proud part in California's history and ensuring it's bright future.
The Ranch Today
The Van Vleck Ranch is a fully operational cattle ranch with almost 12,000 acres under management in southeastern Sacramento County, which represents approximately 1½ percent of all of Sacramento County. In addition to the cattle ranching, the operation provides a number of recreational opportunities to the public and organizations, such as horseback riding, fishing, camping and even paint balling.
Public safety training and National Guard rescue exercises take place in the open land and water areas of the ranch. A land of many uses, the Van Vleck family works to keep the business successful with a long term goal of staying in ranching in this community for many generations to come.
